Awarded images

I love challenge, therefore I continue to enter my photos to the Guild of Photographers Image of the Month competition. Images are are judged by a panel of well respected judges throughout the year towards the Photographer of the Year awards. Last year was awarded TOP 10 Photographer of the Year 2012. We shall see how far I get this year :) 

This month I received 3 Bronze bars! But that is not all. I have also entered Themed Competition 'Monochrome' and have won it! I am absolutely gobsmacked as Black&White is my passion :).

Just a reminder of the Awards:

A Platinum Bar – only awarded to the ultimate of images
A Gold Bar - very rare
A Silver Bar - difficult to achieve
A Bronze Bar - something to be proud of

Hugo's diary: Cars, cars and more cars

They are everywhere, on the floor, in the car, in the bed, swimming in the bubble bath, EVERYWHERE. Guess what was Hugo's first word? Of course not mama nor daddy, CAR. Sitting on the window watching cars passing by, shouting 'ambulance, police, truck, car, van, tractor...' While we do shopping he has to hold a car in each hand. We have a breakfast, those cars sit on the table. If you trip over something in our house, you know what that is!!!

Bed time or one little monkey jumping on a bed...

I love life-style images especially with toddlers. Their favourite 'game' is run, jump and sing :))) and I have to be super fast to keep up with them and be ready for everything because no single image is the same! Before this session with cutie Ana I asked her mum what does like to do and the answer can be found below :)))

I was looking forward to this session, I can never predict what will happen ...

... but I was sure that there is going to be jumping on the bed!!!

Hugo's diary: We love snow!!!

We love snow, it is magic falling from the sky blown down at us from a Snow-fairy. We have a lot of fun playing in it. Every morning Hugo checkes the window, whether there are any snowflakes and if there are, he sings 'Snowflake snowflake little snowflake little snowflake falling from the sky...' then I have to let him watch the song on YouTube, while having breakfast and off we go!

TOP TEN AWARD

I am very pleased to announce that I was presented a prestigious ‘TOP TEN’ photographer award at the Guild’s Presentation Evening held in Staffordshire this Friday.

I am over the moon and to be honest I did not expect that.  Although I sent some images to the competition each month, it was my personal challenge to have images critiqued by well respected judges.

The Guild’s ‘TOP TEN’ awards are given to the highest scoring photographers following the conclusion of its ‘Photographer of the Year’ competition.
We submit multiple images for assessment on a monthly basis throughout a full year. Thousands of images are entered from throughout the UK, parts of Europe and as far afield as Hong Kong. These images are given points by a full Panel of highly respected judges and at the end of 12 months only the photographers with highest overall scores are given ‘TOP TEN’ photographer award.

I learn something new all the time and I believe that the AHAAAAA moments will be with me all my life as I love learning process. This allows me to be bold and creative, always looking for something different for something new. Before I joined The Guild I believed that I can, NOW receiving awards month by month and achieving TOP TEN result I KNOW I can.

From love to love

It was my privilege to photograph this lovely couple Lee and Lei. Their love and dedication to each other shine trough and I am very glad that I could capture their relationship and love. Here are some photos we took. We allowed some time to take pictures in studio setting, life-style using only natural light and just before it started to rain we took some photos outside.

Once more I packed my stuff into my 'huge' car and of me go to Sarah and Gary to photograph their new addition to their family, little Master Bailey! When I photographed Sarah before Bailey was born, she did not know, whether they were having a boy or a girl. I asked her to do the 'Flower  test' and the last petal said 'a boy'. :)

I was so looking forward to the session as Bailey is 5 months young and is at the stage of exploring his fingers and toes and holding his head up while on his belly proudly showing up. Those important milestones parents are looking forward to.

It is amazing how babies expressions change in a second. There isn't one single photo of him looking the same. That's one of the reasons I love photographing children, they are so true and natural.
