Challenge: shallow DOF

This month Clickin Moms Challenge was shallow dept of field. Now, if you are not a photographer yourself, it won't tell you much. So let me explain. Depth of field refers to the range of distance that appears acceptably sharp. A photographer needs to decide how much of the subject need to be sharp BEFORE he presses the button. It does not matter if it is an animal, person or product. It is about the vision the photographer has in mind.

Most of the time I like to photograph with shallow depth of field unless the environment where the subject is is important to the story. It helps separate the subject from the background and from the clutter. It is fantastic way of concentrating on expression and detail.

All of these images have one thing in common and that is shallow dept of field :).

See how Heidi got on with this project and just follow the circle :).

In the woodlands

What a great family session we had! Chasing each other, throwing stone to the puddle, playing pick-a-boo, story telling... Hana and Olek were soo sweet sitting together with their teddy but only for couple of seconds and off they went... Loved every minute of this session.

Felicity

I had the honor to photograph this lovely princess Felicity. I loved every minute of the session. We had lots of fun, jumping on the bed, reading, cooking but what I loved most was when Felicity was laying on the bed with her 2 weeks young sister, talking to her, soothing her down. I would have photographed them till now, but I don't think mum would be happy if I just moved in :))

Alice

Photos where connection between family members is so strong that you can almost transfer yourself into that picture are my favourites. There is something very magical about those moments and I am sure families treasure them for many years and generations.

Alice was just 5 weeks old when I photographed her, she was just sweet. Cannot wait to photograph her later this year again :).

Challenge: Beautiful ugly

Beautiful ugly is another theme for this month for our Clickin moms challenge. I admit that I do stragle to see 'ugly'. I am always in search for something nice, happy and positive and being a children photographer it makes even harder to find ugliness in my pictures. So I turned a bit away from my usual children portrait and concentrated on something else.

Here is my Beautiful Ugly:

Skeleton of the unfinished house in beautiful nature

Old age and those many wrinkles make this image somehow beautiful to me

See what has Heidi created and then follow the circle :).
