Woodlands

We had a lovely weather on Sunday, sun and wind were my good assistants this time. I love working outdoors especially in woodlands, there is some special energy there and a lovely feeling of peace and freedom. I really enjoyed our session with Aga and hope to see her and her family anytime soon :).

Hugo's Diary: Out and about

Winter is over and everything seems to be waking up slowly. Finally it's time to take the bike out of our garden shed and try it out once again after a long rest. We had a lot of fun and bought some B'day baloons with us, which of course ended up high up in the sky :)

 

 

Top 10 Photographer of the year 2013

Some of you might remember that last year I was awarded Top 10 Photographer of the Year by Guild of Photographers. At that time I knew I do my best to win that award again and I am very pleased to say I MADE IT :). wooohooo!

It is very challenging competition where I entered 3 images a month for assessment over the course of a year, and only those with the highest combined scores at the end of the year are awarded the Guild’s coveted ‘Top 10’ Photographer award! 

Guild Director Steve Thirsk said ‘This is an incredible achievement! With nearly 10,000 images assessed from throughout the UK, Europe and further afield for Zuzana to receive a Top Ten award from the Guild is clear evidence of their consistently high standard of photographic skills. Zuzana should be very proud of their outstanding achievement - I am not surprised their services are sought after as I can only applaud them!’

What I was even more pleasantly surprised was that I also have been awarded a place in‘Photographers Bar’ – a unique distinction that very few photographers have received.

I love what I do and have to thank to all my clients and those who stand in front of my camera and trust me. I aim to create beautiful images and wonderful memories for all my clients. I sincerely hope that those who look at my images feel the emotion and energy I put into my work and perhaps put a smile on their face.

Now I am looking forward to new challenges because there is endless list of things I want to try and learn.

Creative Exercise

Today we went for a walk and instead of taking my favourite telephoto lens I took 50mm prime lens. I love this lens but I only used it for indoors images, but today I felt I want to approach the world differently. What this meant? No zooming in or out, no bokeh (blured background), which I use so much. The only thing left is the story telling. Apart from converting the images into black and white there was very little editing in my digital darkroom and must say that I surprised myself.
